Space City Builder IXION Receives Console Releases On April 8

Space-set city builder IXION first released on PC in December of 2022 in its respective stores; The title has resurfaced with an all new console version announced by Publisher Kasedo Games and developer Bulwark Games. The presently optimized console version will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on April 8. Gematsu shares the retail price for this release will be priced at 34.99.

IXION takes place in space, with earth on the brink of collapse. The organization known as DOLOS A.E.C has led an effort to find a new home for the inhabitants of earth. You assume the role of an administrator who sits at the helm of the Tiqqun, an ark and sanctuary for the final members of humanity. You’ll focus on extracting resources and develop the ever-changing Tiqqun.

Kasedo Games conducted an interview with Bulwark Games’ Jérémy Guéry technical director and Manu Monnereau, creative director. Both were asked what most excited them most for players to experience in IXION, Jérémy responded “With IXION there is a strong imagery of a group of survivors living in a big metallic station with the space in the background and having this picture in mind of people cultivating crops and there are stars in the background. It is really one of the key driving elements to create a unique mood that IXION will deliver to players.”

Six sectors can be unlocked within each in-game station and you’ll construct new buildings within Tiqqun to modify the station itself. You also will send mining and cargo ships into space for resources and new recruits.

IXION releasing on consoles presents a new opportunity for players to explore a niche genre with heavy science-fiction elements. With the date drawing near players can decide whether or not this is one that they can take the leap on.
