Sony has decided that to kick-start their Virtual Reality(VR) experience, coming out in 2016, they will make multiple small games for an age group of 12 and up like most of the VR competitors. Sony supports this statement, by saying that “when the content side starts investing, you usually start small.” This idea is because they think that by starting too big would take away from the new experiences of VR.
Sony says that this would not rule out any big VR games. They say that these kinds of games are naturally going to happen. VR at the moment is just to help create a new experience for people. And by starting with small games would help make a larger impact on people which is what Sony wants to do to get their VR started. Sony does not want to invest a bunch of time into one game that will not succeed, instead they want to invest time into multiple games to get a feel of what the people like.
Sony will be holding an invite only VR testing in San Francisco during the Game Developers Conference. There will be hands on demos on the hardware and software. And it is rumored that the device will cost around $500 like other VR systems, and the release date will be spoken at this event.
