Sonic Team is Making a New Sonic Game, Surprisingly

It seems like Sonic has recovered from last years disaster that was Sonic Boom, and now Sonic Team is making new game for Sonic’s 25th anniversary.  In an interview with Famitsu, Sonic director Takashi Lizuka talked about the future of the blue hedgehog.

“We at Sonic Team are developing a completely new game, as well as developing a full movie actively done by Sony Pictures, and animation on Sonic Boom.” said Lizuka.  The always great Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter has been hinting that they would be doing something big for Sonic’s 25th anniversary.

Sega is also holding huge celebration for Sonic’s 25th anniversary at the San Diego Comic-Con.  Sega teased that fans would “get the first look at the future of Sonic.”  This could be a game reveal, or it could be like when we saw the first character models for Sonic Boom.

The event will be held on July 22nd with Crush 40 lead singer Johnny Gioeli making an appearance, along with a Crush 40 concert.

Although nothing is confirmed, it looks like we’ll get to see the next big Sonic game announced during this year’s San Diego Comic Con.  Although could the game be bigger than a Sonic the Hedgehog LEGO?
