New Shovel Knight DLC Includes Spectre Knight and King’s Knight

While other Kickstarter-funded games aren’t doing so well, Yacht Club Games Shovel Knight is enjoying huge success.  It was recently announced on Yacht Club Games blog that a new DLC campaign starring the boss Spectre Knight.  Much like the Plague of Shadows DLC, the Spectre Knight campaign will be a slightly altered version of the main campaign to showcase Spectre Knight’s abilities.

Spectre Knight is a rather large sprite and his scythe attacks very quickly.  He’s also see him using his legs rather than floating like he does in the regular campaign.

Spectre Knight also has a dash slash that can make him attack upwards or downwards.  This is one of Spectre Knights main forms of mobility, and he can also bounce off enemies and deliver another attack.

Spectre Knight doesn’t have the best jumping abilities, but he makes up for that with the ability to wall run.

Spectre Knight only has a short distance he can wall run, so players will have to plan accordingly.  Looks like there will be plenty of platforming challenges in Spectre Knights campaign.

Yacht Club games did not give a release date for the Spectre Knight DLC, but it should be coming soon.  Yacht Club games are also working on another campaign with King’s Knight, as well as a Body Swap and Battle Mode (which unfortunately will not on handhelds).  Yacht Club Games showed a little preview of what the King’s Knight campaign would be like.

The announced updates will be all free to download, which makes Shovel Knight one of the most content-packed games you can get for $15.  Shovel Knight has proven itself to be one of the most successful, and one of the most surprisingly fun games to come from Kickstarter.
