Solo, the Introspective Puzzle Exploration Game, Sails onto Steam Today

“Do you think love is unlearned? Or is it taught?”, “Have you ever loved with your full heart?”, and “What comes first, your family or your lover?” are all hard questions that are asked in the now released introspective puzzler, Solo, by Madrid based game studio, Team Gotham.

In Solo, players take control of a main character that sets out on a voyage across waters of your own romantic experiences. Totems scattered throughout the world of Solo reflect on how love has shaped the player’s life. There is no rush to complete the game, as it encourages relaxed gameplay so players can take in the scenery. With its simplistic, colorful world filled with a complete melancholic soundtrack and downright adorable creatures, it might take you just a bit longer to get to your next objective. Also, not to mention that all of that extra time can be used to think methodically about the creatively engaging puzzles that Solo provides.

As seen in the trailer, the graphics heavily resemble those of The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker. Coupled with the ability to take pictures with the environment, it was as if Team Gotham took the most relaxing aspects of the most recent The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker remake and made it into its own game. In addition, players can also compose songs on guitar in certain places, and you can also feed the wildlife.

Solo creates a safe atmosphere for personal exploration and introspection, where it asks players to divulge some of their most intimate thoughts and perspectives on love,” says Juan De La Torre, creative director of Team Gotham, in a press release. “It’s the kind of metaphorical journey only possible in games.”

Solo is now available on Steam for $14.99, and there is also a Solo Deluxe Pack that comes with the soundtrack priced at $19.98. As a special promotion, the base game will be 10% off and the Deluxe Pack will be 23% off until May 3. The game also comes with language support for English, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese.
