Smite Adds Cthulhu as the Pantheon of Playable Gods

With Smite having continuous change and updates to their game, the developers hope fans will agree that they will love this newly added character as a Playable God. Smite has decided to bring Cthulhu who is known to be a Great Dreamer and the High Priest of the Great Old Ones.

To get to know more about Cthulhu, he is known as the gateway to set of cosmic entities with unfathomable power and that they have existed for aeons which is very much possible that they have been around before our currently known universe. The developers wanted to make it clear that Smite’s Cthulhu to stay true to his literary depiction while making him a fierce and intimidating monster that has become an iconic part of his modern interpretations.

One of the developers of Smite, Titan Ajax, stated that “We think Cthulhu fits Smite in ways these other potential ‘Gods’ do not. Cthulhu is, in his lore, a supernatural being of immense power. He is the high priest of a pantheon of cosmic deities whose presence alone is enough to render a human completely insane – the sort of character at home on the Battleground of the Gods, and arguable the best-known godly figure who is not currently in Smite.”

He also voiced the concerns some fans have with this decision to add Cthulhu because he isn’t seen or even viewed as a playable God and at which fans will feel that they will end up adding other characters that don’t follow along with the playable Gods category. They want to set the record straight that after Cthulhu they have no intent to go farther with added other known characters as playable Gods but Smite still wants to recognize that Cthulhu is a good choice. “Cthulhu has achieved near-mythical status in today’s world, represented in the thousands of books, comics, games, and movies that pay homage to him – and the people who enjoy them. We think there are enough people who believe in Cthulhu as a godly figure that he’s a valid candidate for Smite.”

Smite developers hope fans will love this new change/update and that Cthulhu, The Great Dreamer, is a good candidate players can view as a playable God in Smite.
