Silent Lamb Studio, the developers working on SIRENS, have been hard at work since the launch of their Gamefound campaign back in September. They revealed a new character, known as Lyra, on September 25, 2026 after reaching their crowdfunding goal. She is depicted with a snake-like tail with long red hair, making her both menacing and ethereal.
For those unfamiliar with the title, players explore the ocean and collect treasures as a deadly siren. The game was inspired by the theory that human evolution divided between those who left the ocean to be on land and those that stayed in the open sea. Players will be able to witness the life of a siren at various stages of their evolution.
A limited-time demo was released as part of the October 2026 Steam Next Fest, which is no longer available to play. Silent Lamb Studio also shared that they are planning to release the game for early access within the first quarter of 2027. The developers also hinted at a terrifying surprise they were preparing for Halloween
This surprise was a new gameplay reveal trailer posted on October 30, 2026, which was inspired by the spooky season to highlight the scarier features of the game. In the sandbox or open ocean mode, players will be able to personalize their gameplay experience. There will be a “Horror Aspect” experience, turning the ocean exploration into a bone-chilling adventure as creatures lurk in the murky waters.
This terrifying mode features ominous music, sea monsters, and aggressive predators that will attack the player’s siren on sight. It is a completely optional experience, but those who wish to brave the waters should be aware of the types of creatures they may encounter. There are the obvious creatures such as sharks and giant squids. However, they may be prehistoric creatures laying in wait for them.
Although there has been no news if another demo will be available in the future, players can wishlist SIRENS on Steam to keep an eye out. The develops have put all their passion into the game and each new trailer highlights new features to look forward to.
