A new indie game, Input gets a job!, has landed on steam today, July 31, 2026. The game, both developed and published by madrugaSensei Developer, is a platformer similar to Geometry Dash, but only has one level. Despite this, there are fifteen possible ways to complete the level, and three different endings.
As the name suggests, Input gets a job! follows a 2D pixelated character called Input, who “was on his way to a job interview when, upon entering the company, he realized something was terribly wrong.” As players complete the level for the first time, they are greeted with a screen informing them of the new controls. This continues thirteen more times, until an ending is finally reached.
The first round, players use a standard layout of left and right arrow keys to move, space to jump, and the up arrow key to interact. Alternate controls for players who prefer to use a mouse in this round consist of left clicking to move left, right clicking to move right, pressing down on the mouse wheel to jump, and scrolling the wheel upwards to interact. The second challenge is to win the level one handed, using ‘A’ to move left, ‘D’ to move right, space to jump, and ‘W’ to interact. Alternate controls for the second stage use the number keys, with ‘1’ to move left, ‘2’ to move right, ‘3’ to jump, and ‘4’ to interact.
The remaining thirteen control variants are not revealed in the trailer, but it is implied that gameplay may be similar to nostalgic flash games like Space is Key. If this is the case, there could be a stage where player input is mirrored, a stage where jumps could be higher, and other stages that mess with player muscle memory. Input gets a job! is available on Steam for Windows users only, set at $0.99 USD. madrugaSensei Developer does note that they used AI, but only for translation.
