Simulation Game, Shelter 3, to Come to Steam This Month

Fans of relaxing nature games might be excited to learn that the Swedish, indie developer, Might and Delight, is about to release their third installment in their Shelter series. The two previous titles, Shelter and Shelter 2, followed the journey of mother badger and lynx respectively as they explore the wild world and hunt to keep themselves and their children alive. As of right now, it has been more than five years since Might and Delight have added another title to this series.

The next title, aptly named Shelter 3, will be centered around elephants. The player will be in control of a new mother elephant and must protect her calf while also taking care of the larger elephant community. Players will have to guide the herd away from harm but while also keeping them fed and hydrated.

This new aspect will be a stark difference from its predecessor since the community and social aspect of elephant herds will play a larger role and “lets players explore a different kind of animal existence, where community is as important as family, and unity is key.”

Because there are so many more animals to take care of compared to the other titles, the playstyle will be slower. However, the soundtrack will be created by the same group that did the previous games, Retro Family, so long times fans will feel at home while playing through Shelter 3.

The original Shelter title is still available on Steam for $9.99 and Shelter 2 is currently $14.99 if you want to play the first two titles before the third comes out at the end of this month on March 30.
