Silent Hill 2 Remake Studio Finally Gives An Update On Their Lack Of New Information

The recent trend in remaking older games for newer generations and longtime fans is an overall very positive thing happening right now in the industry. While many are quick to call out studios for lack of creativity, it is really nice for us who were not really into video games at the time to finally be able to play such acclaimed games. Dead Space and Resident Evil 4 being two of the biggest ones of the past year. One very much anticipated Remake is the Silent Hill 2 remake, which was announced in October of 2022. Well over a year later we have heard close to nothing apart from the teaser trailer releasing the same day as the announcement, leaving some fans to question whether or not the remake is canned or not.

Finally, some news came from the developer of the remake, Bloober Team on X responded to a fan who was eager to know anything at all regarding an update to the game. When asked for anything new Bloober Team responded by saying that Konami is in charge of communicating on the game’s progress, it’s important to note that the comment almost seemed slightly passive-aggressive.

In another tweet, a seemingly frustrated fan asked to be told if the game was canceled already, to which the Bloober team responded with a GIF of Jack Sparrow saying “Not True.” While these mentions aren’t much of an update at all on the trajectory of Silent Hill 2 remake, it’s at the very least some bit of news. There’s still not much news regarding a release date, but it is expected to be released sometime in 2024 or 2025 and it is a PlayStation 5 exclusive title.
