Silent Hill 2 Remake Finally Gets More Information But Still No Release Date

The first PlayStation state of play of the year happened today and with it came many expected showcases and some new announcements. But one of the more exciting things to come from it was another look at the heavily anticipated Silent Hill 2 remake that we have not heard much of, if anything at all. The game was first revealed in October of 2022, so it has been well over a year since the last time we heard anything about the title. Many people had gone as far to say that the title had been shelved temporarily giving the lack of information regarding the project. But we finally got another look at the title including some much desired gameplay.

The trailer showcased was mainly focused on combat, and the many enemies that will be haunting James Sunderland as players go through this remake. The game still seems to need some polish which indicates that it wont be releasing any time soon. Adding on to the fact that no date was announced at the end of the trailer, not even saying a year, with the trailer ending with the message saying “In development for PS5”.

On another note from the Silent Hill series, also at the state of play was a brand new single player, first person game announced Titled Silent Hill The Short message. It was a surprise reveal and adding on to that, the game is actually free and should already be out the same day. The game looks very similar to the PT demo that was released a couple of years ago, but noticeably different in tone and look. This title could have very well been made in order to quench the thirst of Silent Hill fans, as the previously mentioned remake has had close to little news coming these past couple months.
