Shin Megami Tensei V Release Date Announced

The eagerly awaited Shin Megami Tensei V is on the way, and Nintendo revealed not only the release date, but also showed off brand new gameplay and story elements. After being revealed in a Nintendo Direct Mini last year, Nintendo has finally confirmed that on November 12th, Shin Megami Tensei V officially releases as a switch exclusive. Developer Atlus has been hard at work building a game that lives up to the hype and acclaim that the rest of the series has earned over the years. This beloved series has gone without a true new entry for eight years, but the wait is nearly over. Fans have been chomping at the bit for a brand new entry in the franchise, and now it looks like this new game will have more than enough to draw new and old players alike into its world.

The world of SMTV is one that has been torn apart by angels and demons alike, with the planet left to suffer in the crossfire. As such, players will have to navigate a dilapidated world covered with deadly creatures in order to find out what went wrong with the planet and maybe even save it in the process. Check out the quote from Nintendo’s website below for more information on the strange world and story of Shin Megami Tensei V.

The ambitions of god and human clash amidst the horror of a dying world. Neither human nor demon, the newly-forged Nahobino and his friends must decide what is worth saving… and prepare to sacrifice everything in its name. In a world without its Creator, which path will you choose?

Nintendo also showed off the game’s negotiation system, which allows players to charm, tempt, and hopefully recruit plenty of new allies from the monsters scattered around the world. Many monsters have unique demands, but if the player can fulfill them then they’ll have a powerful new ally to fight alongside who can level up, learn new skills and even combine with other monsters to create entirely new companions.
