Sega To Focus On Making PC Games

The time of Sega being a force in the mainstream console crowd is officially at an end. Sega recently announced their new focus on releasing PC games and their partnership with Nintendo to release Wii U and 3DS games.

While this may seem like a sudden change, Sega already has a good presence in the PC gaming market. They have owned Creative Assembly, developers of the popular and critically acclaimed Total War series, and Sports Interactive, the team behind the Football Manager games, for close to a decade. Additionally, this year they acquired Relic Entertainment, developers behind the Company of Heroes and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War franchises, when THQ went bankrupt.

Don’t think they’re dropping the blue hedgehog either. The new Sonic Lost Worlds series is coming out for Wii U and 3DS sometime in the future, and Sega will continue to make the highly successful Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games franchise.
