Sega 3D Classics Collection Announced

Sega fans who want to play some classic Genesis Games in 3D can now rest easy.  Sega announced today that they will be releasing the Sega 3D Classics Collection for the 3DS on April 26th.  The collection will include Altered Beast, Thunder Blade, Galaxy Force II, Power Drift, Puyo Puyo 2, Maze Walker, Fantasy Zone II: The Tears of Opa-Opa, Fantasy Zone II W, and Sonic the Hedgehog.  For retro game aficionados, Puyo Puyo 2 and Power Drift were only released in Japan, so this may be the time to get them.  The collection will have a physical release in the US for $30, and considering each of these games runs for about 6 bucks on the eshop, it’s  a pretty good deal.

While it’s great to have some retro games on the go, I would like to remind everyone that the Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection for 360 and PS3 has over 40 Genesis titles for $20.  This just in, AtGames has portable Sega Genesis player with 40 games installed.  I’m sorry Sega, I don’t mean to take away future sales of Sega 3D Classics Collection.
