Five Nights At Freddy’s World Releases a Month Early, Available Now on Steam

In a very surprising turn of events, the incredibly weird Five Nights at Freddy’s World is available on Steam, nearly a whole month before it’s announced release of February 19th.  The turn-based RPG spin-off of the popular horror series is available now for $9.99, with a mobile version to be released soon.    It was certainly a strange decision for the series to become a cutesy RPG, but I respect that such a popular series took such a dramatic change.  I think it’s safe to say that most people thought that The Five Night at Freddy’s Series was starting to feel stale, so even if Scott Cawthon goes back to make Five Nights at Freddy’s 5, good on him to try something different.

From the user reviews on Steam, it looks like the players are enjoying the change of pace for the series.  Five Nights at Freddy’s is a very popular franchise, and maybe this new entry in the series stepped away from horror to appeal to a wider and younger audience.  It’s hard to say whether Five Nights at Freddy’s World is just a one-off spoof or if it will also have four sequels, but as long as the series still has a devoted audience and Let’s Players, we can definitely expect more of this franchise in the future.
