Seed Sparkle Lab Sets August 18 Full Release for Starsand Island, Leaving Early Access

Developer and publisher Seed Sparkle Lab has announced that Starsand Island, an anime-styled life and farming simulation, will leave Early Access and reach its 1.0 release on August 18, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. The date came through trailer and a post on the game’s Steam page. Physical editions follow on November 12 for PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 with pre-orders open now; the Xbox version stays digital-only. The game first entered Early Access on Xbox Series and PC on February 11, which makes the move to a finished release a turnaround of about six months.
The game has players coming back to the island where their character grew up, taking over a rural home to rebuild and decorate at their own pace. The days fill with farming, fishing, ranching, crafting, and construction, and there are vehicles for getting around as well as boats for reaching nearby islands. Those who venture beyond the farmland will find ancient ruins to poke through and creatures to fight. The biggest change in 1.0 is the arrival of online multiplayer, which lets as many as four players do all of it together and pick up a separate multiplayer currency that can be spent on exclusive items in its own shop.

The full release also deepens how players interact with the island’s residents. Nineteen characters are getting new relationship quests that unlock as players hit three- and five-heart milestones. Plus, going on dates with the 14 romanceable characters is a lot more engaging now, with fresh activities like picnics, kite flying, and playing arcade games. On top of that, there’s a brand-new seasonal event: the Autumn Pumpkin Carnival. It features its own storyline and dedicated quests, with activities ranging from growing festival pumpkins to catching glowing jellyfish. Players can even feed their animals a special mix that makes them produce candy. Taking part in the carnival rewards them with exclusive, event-only collectibles, including new outfits, makeup, emotes, recipes, and furniture.

Starsand Island is available to wishlist now on Steam.
