Based on real events, Selsoviet places you in the difficult position of deciding who survives. A young woman named Liza is sent to work in the settlement of Herota, one of the Soviet Far East’s largest mining projects. Herota was promised to be a life changing place, a perfect place for workers to provide for their families and live in. However, the exact opposite happened.
What was promised to be in abundance is now in an endless shortage, and everyone who had the fortune of leaving is gone. With food being scarce, people are starving. The children in town are slowly dying, and there is no way to help them.
As you assume the role of Liza, you are met with the difficult task of rationing an already limited amount of food. Each delivery is too small for the amount of people who live in Herota, your family included. Every person who walks into the store is desperate for something to eat, their livelihood is in your hands. You can take risks and try to give as much food as you can out, have a favor done for you in exchange, or choose to deceive customers and reserve some of the supply for you and your family. Of course, with a settlement full of hungry people, there is bound to be conflicts, rumors, and growing tensions. Nothing here stays a secret for long, if you show some sort of favoritism, people will notice. If a favor was set up in exchange for food, everyone will know. The choices you make will slowly reshape life inside Herota, for better or for worse. One wrong decision could lead to someone taking extreme measures into their hands to feed their family, and the safety of your family can be in danger.
Developer Overedge Games wants players to keep one thing in mind while playing this: “Decide what kind of person survival turns you into.”
