Season 12 of Apex Legends to Feature New Limited Time Game Mode Called “Control”

Season 12 of Apex Legends will be called “Defiance” and has officially been scheduled for release on February 8th. Along with the announcement of season 12 came news about the addition of brand new and limited-time game mode.

This new mode will be called “Control” and is a game mode that will reward players for controlling parts of the map. Players will select their load out before the match and have a chance to fight for the different areas. Although currently unclear about how a team can officially win in the new mode, it is known that controlling parts of the map will result in certain points and rewards for players. This system is very different from the current and previous game modes where every player is fighting to achieve the most kills throughout the game.

In addition to the scoring system being different, the amount of players on each team will be significantly increased as well. In previous seasons, the biggest teams have consisted of only three players. The new game mode will feature teams of nine that will be fighting to control the different parts of the map. The players will choose their load-outs before the match and have unlimited respawns throughout the game to help the team to maintain or gain control of the different sections. As a result, teams will have to strategize to out-duel the opposing team for the most important areas. The addition of this new game mode is major news for Apex Legends as they continue to expand their game. In addition to the new game mode, a new legend called Mad Maggie has been announced as well.

Margaret “Mad Maggie” Kōhere grew up on Salvo and was best friends with Fuse before the two eventually had a falling out that resulted in the loss of Fuse’s arm.

As players begin to gear up for the new season, many are optimistic that the new game modes and additions to the overall game will produce the most exciting season yet!
