Sabotage Studios, along with the release of their brand new trailer has announced the Sea of Stars ‘Dawn of Equinox’ update, which is now available for players for free. The update is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC according to Cinelinx.
On Noisy Pixel, Thierry Boulanger the co-founder of Sabotage Studios describes the mindset behind creating the update “We ultimately see Dawn of Equinox as the community’s gift to us – the overwhelming love and support they’ve shown us ever since we announced Sea of Stars is what gave our team the means to return to the project and refine it even more.”
The update includes bug fixes along with adjustments according to PlayStation Blog. Co-op play is being introduced, additional players can now assume the role of party members and use timed attacks and blocking. Combat has received new balance features like Sticky Combos, allowing you to accrue combo points through battles and break through enemies’ locks, or, offenses. Players will now encounter mystery locks, which will require more finesse from players to break preventing enemies from launching powerful attacks; a reveal function has been added to various player skills to assist players with this. The prologue of the game has been reworked where combat is now the primary focus and brand new animations have been added for child Valare and Zale, in addition a new prerendered cutscene has been added to the game titled ‘Paths of Water.’
Though the latest update was released today, this is not the end for Sea of Stars. Gematsu has reported that ‘Throes of The Watchmaker’ will be released for free in spring of 2025. The content is set to reveal new classes, characters, areas, music and bosses. With the positive reception the game has received, these updates are certain to keep fans enticed.
