The Sci-fi shooter Ironsight, developed by Wiple Games and published by Aeria Games, hits its full release on Steam with a free to play model. The action shooter had been in open beta since February of 2018. The move to Steam came along with new updates as well. Ironsight got two new maps: “Station,” a Russian train station notable for heavy snow and open spaces and “Discovery,” a compound hidden in a dense jungle. “Discovery” is designed to lend favor to players that want to play a sniper role. The Type 89 rifle and a new drone called “flytrap” that shields players from grenades have been added. Finally, a capture the flag mode has been added and is exclusive to the open-style map Station, which is designed around the new game mode. A new battle pass for Ironsight is out with new rewards for players to attempt to unlock as well.
Ironsight is an Action/FPS game that revolves around its multiplayer aspect, much like Warface. Ironsight‘s fictional universe revolves around the collapse of oil and an ensuing struggle between the North Atlantic Federation (NAF) and the Energy Development Enterprise Network (EDEN) over the planet’s last natural resource for power, Trinitium. Ironsight advertises destructible environments along with a large array of tools for players to utilize, from over a hundred firearms to even drones to assist. Ironsight also totes a large selection of cosmetics that can be unlocked via game-play for players to customize themselves with.
Ironsight released to mixed reception on Steam. The game has been compared to Call of Duty, often calling Ironsight free to play imitation of the Call of Duty’s formula. The generic game-play has been both a praise and a critique. Ironsight has also received praise for not pushing moneitzation too far making the game feel pay to win, but rather it offers a balanced experience to every player.
