Publisher SE-Asia and developer SenseGames have announced a delay in release for their sci-fi action role-playing game AI LIMIT as reported by Gematsu. The game is being developed in tandem with the PlayStation China Hero Project, a program funded by Sony that supports Chinese game developers in creating games. The game is scheduled for release on March 27, 2025 for the PlayStation 5 and PC.
The setting of AI LIMIT is a future long following the fall of civilization, caused by a corrosive substance known as the ‘Mud’, humanity struggles to survive. You’ll assume the role of Arrisa, a being known as a Blader capable of regeneration; You’ll explore the remains of the planet and combat roaming monsters.
In an interview conducted on Gematsu, Yang Bin, Producer of AI LIMIT, discusses some of the development challenges behind creating the game “For a first-time developer, the complexity of the entire project exceeded our expectations. The further we progressed; the more technical issues arose. At certain points in development, iterating on technology caused challenges with maintenance and management. Looking back, we recognize that many of these issues stemmed from our lack of experience as first-timers. However, all of that is now in the past. We believe the game will soon be ready to see the world.”
AI LIMIT features 20 to 30 unique weapon types. You’ll be able to parry enemy attacks and buff your own. The game contains multiple endings influenced by your interactions with npcs.
AI LIMIT is an ambitious action rpg and draws clear influence from game’s like Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Sony has provided their financial backing, marketing, and quality assurance in the form of the China Hero Project. The demo was well received, lauded primarily for its standout art direction. The indication here is that SenseGames is starting off on the right foot.
