Game updates and releases always get delayed as game studios seek to release the best possible product on day one, as it’s the most important moment for a game, as it’s the time it has the most eyes on it, so you must get it right the first time, especially in the current landscape. Though it isn’t as common, it sometimes does happen: early access can be delayed; such is the case for Saw: Genesis, which has now been delayed to Q1 2027. The delay is due to how ambitious a title it is for Anshar Studios, as it’s part of a beloved horror franchise; they strive to release the best possible product that lives up to both the studio’s and players’ expectations.

Saw: Genesis is a 3v1 multiplayer horror game by Anshar Studios set in the Saw universe, serving as a pseudo-prequel that takes place after WW1. The game was first shown off at Summer Game Fest and is a collaboration among three studios: Anshar Studios, Lionsgate, and Bloober Team, aiming to create something wholly unique for the franchise. At the time of writing this article, the game has already had 2 alpha playtests, but the announcement of the delay came before the first one. As mentioned, the early access for the game has now been delayed to Q1 2027, as the game has received a lot of feedback, and thanks to that, the game needs more time to cook, as it has become the studio’s most ambitious title.
