Save the Zacks is a new game released today for iOS. It was developed by Bytesize Technology AB and is available in English, Spanish, and Swedish for users who are nine years or older. The game seems to be family friendly-like as well as a way to test a user’s creative and critical thinking skills. Though there are some areas of the game that may not seem family-friendly, it definitely does challenge users’ minds as they progress throughout the game.
Save the Zacks concept is really simple. The main goal is to help the marshmallow-like characters, or Zacks, escape from their world. As there is either a teleportation device or rocket underneath the terrain, users will need to use their fingers to dig under the terrain and create an underground pathway to their escape. Players can also tilt their devices to move gravity in the direction they wish the Zacks to move. These Zacks can also be used to explode to clear up any obstacles that may stand in your path. It sounds harsh, but it’s necessary as users proceed.
After a few rounds, however, the game will progressively become more difficult. At one point, these challenges seem to progressively become gruesome. From cute and easy terrain digging, users will encounter obstacles that include monsters eating Zacks, obliterated by lasers, shredded by saw blades, burnt into ashes with lava, and other dangers along the way. As mentioned before, each Zack can be used to clear up any obstacles, such as taking out a monster’s leg. Though, if one Zack is caught and killed by the monster, users will be required to restart in order to continue. Rest assured though, the game seems to provide multiple rounds with more practice, the better. Users can, therefore, challenge themselves through these obstacles to test their creative and critical thinking and, most importantly, save the Zacks.
