Satisfactory Hits Early Access Tomorrow

One of the more creative first-person games is on its way to the Epic Games store for Early Access. Satisfactory will be entering its run in Early Access tomorrow, March 19, “for at least one year, could be longer.” Coffee Stain Studio explains that the game is a very large and complex title that needs to be refined over a period of time in order to put the proper polish on the eventual finished product.

Satisfactory is just one of the many games that have hopped onto the trend of releasing on the Epic Games store. It is a first-person, open-world, factory building game that also has smaller elements of fighting and exploration. That description alone is unique enough to draw some attention to their latest trailer that finalized the date for the start of Early Access:

Players will assume the role of a pioneer for FICSIT Incorporated, tasked with charting the unknown planet that they have been sent to. To solidify factories that will establish your presence and help collect resources, players must battle aliens, automate useful vehicles, and research technologies that will benefit their multi-story factories. Taking part in this “Save the Day program” for FICSIT will be “providing short-term solutions for long-term problems” and can be done with friends online.

At the launch of Early Access, Satisfactory will show the public a host of features. Six tiers of milestones and accomplishments will create challenges to unlock certain equipment and resources. To begin, there will be three different kinds of biomes in a world that will start at a size of 30 square kilometers. Available vehicles will have automation capabilities to help battle the aliens that players will be introduced to. Coffee Stain Studios is looking forward to making multiplayer a big part of the game, but at the beginning of Early Access it is “still in a bit funky state but it’s Playable and Fun.”

As of now, the developers’ plan for the full game is to add more milestones and tiers, add different machines and resources, improve core gameplay mechanics, create a narrative story, expand on the world, have mod support available, and make sure there is dedicated server support.
