Samsung Electronics Announces Cloud-Based Game Streaming for New 2022 Smart TVs

In an official press release yesterday, Samsung Electronics unveiled new details regarding their upcoming 2022 Micro LED, Neo QLED, and Lifestyle Smart TV models. In the announcement, Samsung shared that their 2022 Smart TVs will have a new Smart Hub that includes a gaming feature called the Samsung Gaming Hub located within the Smart Hub sidebar that will let users play video games on their Smart TVs seamlessly.

The Samsung Gaming Hub will allow users to stream video games straight from their Smart TVs without relying on a physical gaming console. Users can access extensive video game libraries on selected Samsung Smart TVs, courtesy of Samsung’s partnerships with game streaming services NVIDIA GeForce Now, Stadia, and Utomik. The Samsung Gaming Hub will include these three game streaming platforms in its initial launch, but Samsung intends to implement more partnerships in the future. Additionally, users who already own gaming consoles can also take advantage of the Samsung Gaming Hub by playing the provided games on their Samsung Smart TVs using their consoles and game controllers.

Today, Samsung shared their goal for simplistic gaming in a segment dedicated to the Samsung Gaming Hub during a livestream of their CES 2022 Keynote. Andrew Georgiou, Future Generation Marketing Lead at Samsung UK, explained that the Samsung Gaming Hub “bridges the gap between hardware and software to create a simpler, easier way to discover and play tons of games from great partners like NVIDIA GeForce Now, Stadia, and Utomik, no game downloads required.” With the Samsung Gaming Hub, users will be able to “jump right in” as they have access to all the available games in one place at their fingertips.

The Samsung Gaming Hub plans to launch later in the year, starting with selected Samsung 2022 Smart TV models. As its release date gets closer, Samsung will also release more information about the Samsung Gaming Hub in the upcoming months.
