Who wants an unfinished game that was rushed or would you rather a game that was published and the developers took the necessary time to make great? That is the question on many fans’ minds as Volition, the developers in charge of Saints Row, have decided to push the game’s release date from February to August 2022. Forcing the fans of the series to wait 6 months, barring another setback Saints Row should be a great holiday pickup for age-appropriate adults.
Making a reboot of the franchise is providing to be an uphill battle as the comments from the video above are not pleasant to read. Some fans are hoping the delay is to scrap the main characters in favor of the original cast which has appeared in the 6 other games to date. According to Volition, there will be no changes to the story and cast, and the delay is to focus on the overall polish and quality of Saints Row.
Instead of the main cast from the other games, you will be controlling a new group of characters hoping to take back the city from different gangs. Much like the original Saints Row of the same name, talk about confusing. Also no longer set in Stillwater or Steelport the Saints have dropped into Santo Ileso, a fictional city based in the American Southwest.
Elden Ring was also supposed to be released on the original release date so I am sure that had nothing to do with the pushback. Who knows what the franchise will look like after this version is released. Maybe in the next one, we could see some fans’ favorites return, or maybe that are already in the game. One thing is for certain with Saints Row the game will be over the top and bring more fans into the fold as the old ones seem to age out of love with the franchise.
