In an effort to alleviate pressure from the development team Sabotage Studio, developer of Sea of Stars, announced the push back of the game’s release date to 2023. The announcement came early on June 30th, 2022 on Twitter and was well received by fans. Sea of Stars is a turn-based 2D pixel RPG with a blend of retro aesthetics and modern game design. In a love letter to classic RPGs, You play as two Children of the Solstice who will combine the powers of the sun and moon to perform Eclipse Magic, the only force capable of fending off the monstrous creations of the evil alchemist known as The Fleshmancer.
Sea of Stars boasts a number of features that aims to push the limits of 2D pixel RPGs. So it wouldn’t be that much of a surprise to give the game developers enough time to comb through the details. So in order for the game to release as its best possible self, Sabotage Studio decided to push the release date forward into the near future. Due to the games wide scope Sabotage Studio took the best course of action to keep to their two main priorities: the quality of life for their team, and the quality of the game. They concluded their post asking for patience from their fans and thanking them for their continued support.
Whether it be through its engaging turn-based combat, seamless navigation system, rich story, or dynamic lighting, Sea of Stars looks to grant the player a unique RPG experience. Despite this unfortunate delay, its safe to say that the developers behind it have taken the necessary steps to polish their game to the best of their abilities. So as Sabotage Studio continues with their development, fans can be sure to visit their official website for more information. Until then, look forward to the upcoming 2023 release.
