A month ago, we wrote about the chock-full of spells shooter, Runers. It was released on Steam for PC this past Tuesday. A sale, lasting until Sep. 9, currently marks the price down 25%, from $9.99 to $7.49. The game has soundtrack bundle option, including both the game and the soundtrack. This bundle is priced at $11.99, but the previously mentioned sale leaves it at $8.99. Finally, the soundtrack can be bought as a standalone. It is priced at $2.99 or $2.24 for the full and sale price, respectively.
In addition to the 285 spells that can be cast, mentioned in our previous article, Runers includes 20 character classes and 50 character traits. The game also features 10 procedurally generated floors with randomization of enemies, promising differentiated playthroughs. More than 100 enemies and 15 bosses can be taken on at five levels of difficulty.
Mark Bergerson, co-creator of Runers from the developing studio Let’s Get Kraken, commented on the release:
We are very excited to be releasing Runers to the public. Since launching our demo, we have been encouraged by the positive responses to the game. We really wanted players to have truly personalized playthroughs and, to provide a sense of discovery, always making them wonder what spell or enemy they will find next. There are so many customization options, there is always something new to try or discover, bringing you one step closer to reaching the final boss. Together with Mastertronic, we have put a lot of hard work into Runers and we hope everyone enjoys it!
Stuart Morton, a producer from the game’s publisher, Mastertronic, also expressed excitement over its Steam debut:
If you like games about dying (a lot), combining things (a lot) and killing stuff (a lot), then Runers is the game for you. Even if you don’t, I bet you will get hooked, once you try out the demo. The team at Lets Get Kraken have lovingly crafted a game that oozes options – the huge amount of races, classes and spell combinations will ensure you keep tinkering away to find the perfect play style that suits you in your quest to make it through all the floors and bosses. We are very pleased to help bring Runers to the public.
A launch trailer has been released for Runers, found below. More on the game, as well as a demo, can be found on Runers’ official website.
