It’s been a while since we last heard anything in regards to Team Ninja’s Rise of the Ronin. The PlayStation 5 exclusive title, which was revealed during the State of Play September last year, has been kept under wraps for the most part. That was until very reputable leaker, known as The Snitch, leaked a boatload of information onto the internet most of which was all rounded up on a Reddit post. According to the leak, the title has a planned launch time frame of Q1 2024, which is essentially within the first three months of 2024.
Among that major tidbit, is a plethora of new information that pertains to the title’s features, in game mechanics, and style. According to the leak, Rise of the Ronin will play like a mixture of Assassin’s Creed, Ghost of Tsushima, and Dark Souls. Considering how the gameplay is shown in the very first trailer, this doesn’t come as a huge surprise. Many of the in game items’ actual descriptions will be used to make the lore that much bigger in scope, and add to the overall experience.
In addition, the gameplay mechanics will use a skill and technique skill tree, options for the player to romance a character, difficulty options, numerous side-quests that are “like Ubisoft”, and performance and quality graphic options. Snitch states that all of this information is “100% real” and has apparently seen screenshots of the game which they have shared within their own Discord server. Neither Sony nor Team Ninja have commented on the leak, and more than likely won’t until they have something to announce. Still, it’s quite intriguing as to how Snitch got their hands on this information, and should all of this turn out to be true, then PlayStation fans have a massive title to look forward to.
