Rougelike Twin-Stick Shooter Last Encounter Makes Contact with Steam this May

Exordium Games, the Croatian developers known for creating the likes of Nephil’s Fall, Zero Reflex, Agenda, and Bear With Me, will soon be releasing their newest game to Steam. The rougelike twin-stick shooter, Last Encounter, will give players a vast variety of weapons to overcome foes and will allow co-op so friends can aid in the fight against Earth’s invaders.

Last Encounter starts after Earth discovers groundbreaking cloning technology and then subsequently becomes invaded by a technologically superior race. As humanity is on the brink of extinction, the last stand before total annihilation are skilled pilots who have the ability to combine different ship weapons that can thwart the extraterrestrial onslaught.

The game will feature a variety of ships, each with its own unique abilities and attributes. Each ship also has the ability to combine weapons to make things such as rocket firing SMGs, laser beam snipers, and so much more. Players will need to travel through procedurally generated galaxies each playthrough in order to search and destroy the alien forces that threaten Earth. To add to the fun, up to four players can locally play together in a fast-paced co-op mode to prevent humanity’s ultimate demise, push back the alien invaders, and combine weapon components to make the ultimate weapon of alien destruction.

“With dozens of components in the game, there is a vast variety of weapons that players can design and use,” says Game Director of Exordium Games, Andrej Kovacevic, in a press release. “Whether you team up with friends or go into the fight alone, Last Encounter provides a challenge with a great deal of replayability.”

Last Encounter will be releasing on Steam on May 8. Also, there will be console versions of the game for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and the Nintendo Switch. These versions are expected to release sometime during Q3 of 2018.
