Roombo: First Blood, the Game Where you Get to Play as a Murderous Robot Vacuum

Humble Bundle’s monthly service always brings an original game to the plate for those who subscribe to it. With each month, a Humble original is added to the pot. For Humble’s January bundle comes the new and rather violent original game, Roombo: First Blood.

Roombo: First Blood is done by independent development team Samurai Punk, the minds behind The American Dream and ScreenCheat. Described as an ‘experimental game’ over on its Steam page, the game consists of five difficulty scenarios set in one house with unlockables consisting of concept art.

The game is deceptively simple: players take on the role of the family vacuum robot. The family is gone for some time and you have to fend off any burglars that are breaking and entering into the house. So, how does one take care of the burglars? By using everything around the house to the best of your advantage.

Using smart-home gadgets, little Roombo can set up deadly traps for the unsuspecting burglars to walk right into. Various appliances such as ceiling fans, fridges, and fireplaces are only a few that can be used. Weapons can also be found throughout the house to be handled and used against the intruders as well. Roombo can set up for a trajectory launch with certain weapons to take out each of the enemies.

However, don’t get too caught up in the murder spree, as once all the burglar are taken care of, a timer starts to remind players to clean the house before the family gets home. After a certain percentage of cleanliness is reached, the level is complete.

While this game is being released for the Humble January Bundle, the game is also listed on Steam, as it will come out during the second quarter of 2019. To keep updated on when it will reach Steam, check out Samurai Punk’s Twitter account.
