Publisher Shueisha Games and developer TrueWorld Studios have announced that their role playing roguelite action shooter UNYIELDER would be launching for PC this May. Gematsu shares that it will support various language options including; English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, French, German, and Spanish and that a “Prologue” Demo is readily available.
UNYIELDER is set in Erebus, the capital of Antarctica in 1972, a hotspot of apocalyptic level events and collapse; Buried in runes of dust, with the designation “PNEUMA” also referred to as a man made heaven. Details about the player character are scarce in the Gematsu report though it is stated that UNYIELDER is a ‘character action’ focused game.
Indie Wavemakers Spoke with Trueworld Studios design lead Joshua T, and asked what kinds of players besides fps fans might be drawn to UNYIELDER, Joshua had this to say “So it is quite an intense experience, I think anyone who’s looking for an intense experience will enjoy this quite a bit. But we don’t usually play Shooters so as someone who like me yes like as someone who is like not that; like if you don’t really know if you want to get into intense fast paced Shooters I think what we have is a very good onboarding gateway that’s a good balancing experience.”
You’ll gather unique weapons and perks as you progress and customize your final boss experience to unlock more special weapons and characters; Customizing your own final boss includes scavenging parts limbs from slain enemies for endgame character classes. The soundtrack is produced by Karu of Undertale fame.
UNYIELDER is TrueWorld Studios first original in-house IP, it would stand to reason that some of their success hinges on this release. With the title’s development going strong and developers presence at gamescom asia, things are certainly starting out in the right direction.
