The Roblox Corporation has announced the One World: Together At Home concert to benefit The World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. The event is curated by Lady Gaga, and will feature performances from artists like Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Niall Horan, Camila Cabello, Usher, and more! Of course, the concert will be held in a safe digital space, inside of Roblox.
The concert will also stream on Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Twitch, YouTube, and several TV networks like ABC and NBC. The concert will air in two parts on the same day. The event begins Saturday, April 18th, with part 1 airing at 11 am PT. Part two will start right after from 5 pm to 7 pm PT. Then a replay of part two will be shown on Sunday the 19th from 10 am to 12 pm PT. The actual in-game event space has been open since 12 pm PT today; information on how to join can be found here.
Global Citizen is hosting the event with co-hosts like Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and Stephen Colbert. It’s a star-studded lineup for not just musical performances but also appearances with celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Ellen Degeneres. The Roblox Corporation describes the event as “A chance for all of us to come together and enjoy great entertainment while celebrating the frontline workers leading the fight against COVID-19.” Starting Saturday, players can support the cause by purchasing items like “solidarity shades” and “historic headphones” from the avatar shop.
