When it comes to cheating on one of Riot’s popular games, Valorant, best believe there’s going to be a manhunt for whoever the hackers and they need their fans’ help into catching whoever these people are. That being said Riot Games sent out a notice to all their fans and players of the game Valorant that they are giving away $100,000 to whomever can find the anti-cheater driver.
On Riot’s studio website, they went in detail about the situation and broke down the Vanguard Bounty policy and opportunity. They said, “Alongside our new game Valorant, we have deployed our new anti-cheat solution Vanguard that leverages a kernel driver to combat cheaters more effectively. To reinforce our commitment to our player’s security, we are offering special bounties for up to $100,000 for high-quality reports that demonstrate practical exploits leveraging the Vanguard kernel driver”. They are hoping with this new policy fans can be motivated to not only get to play the game but to catch and expose the potential cheaters of the game. They also break down the Vanguard bounties scope of the game and broke down six different categories of maximum bounty which in all depends on the actual impact of the practicality of the exploited being presented.
With many fans concerned about this “new bounty policy” the developers wanted to express to their fans about the concerns they may have when dealing with their privacy. They stated on the Riot Games website, “We’d never let Riot ship something we couldn’t stand behind from a player-trust perspective (not that we think Riot would ever try). Players have every right to question and challenge us, but let’s be clear – we wouldn’t work here if we didn’t deeply care about player trust and privacy and believe that Riot feels the same way”.
