I sincerely hope you’ve been enjoying the closed beta of Riot Games’ League of Legends based fighting game, 2XKO. And, if you have been enjoying it, you’ll love the news that 2XKO is coming to PC for early access on October 7th.
The early access version of 2XKO will be the first full fledged release version of the game, with all the bells and whistles of the full release like new costumes (as shown by Vi’s groovy Neon Strike inspired costume) and combo trials. As with the full game, the battlepass will be available for all players and ranked will be available as well with no content resets, which means anything you earn during the early access version of the game you get to keep going into the full release.
They also further explain their plans going forward. Every year of 2XKO will come with 5 seasons, each of which will come with new content and, most importantly, a new character to expand on 2XKO’s pretty bare roster. At a rate of 5 characters a year, that’s some pretty exponential growth. Hopefully they don’t add Teemo.
On top of that, Riot themselves are sponsoring community run tournaments such as Tampa Never Sleeps among others as the game reaches release so that’s always nice to see. An active competitive scene can trickle down to the more casual players, so support on that front is always welcome. Of course, there’s the spicy bonus that you can win more money at these community events if you play as a duo. If my experience with Street Fighter x Tekken has taught me anything, it’s that the pot bonus from playing with two people over just playing by yourself will be well earned because that is not easy (and ends friendships).
So look forward to 2XKO’s early access come October 7th, 2XKO’s 10th champion will be releasing at the same time as the early access version so look forward to that preview as well.
Play games, take surveys and take advantage of special offers to help support mxdwn. Every dollar helps keep the content you love coming every single day.
