After teasing an announcement regarding cheaters in Call of Duty, a new initiative for the franchise has been revealed In the press release, the Call of Duty staff said “We are proud to introduce RICOCHET Anti-Cheat, a robust anti-cheat system supported by a team of dedicated professionals focused on fighting unfair play. The RICOCHET Anti-Cheat initiative is a multi-faceted approach to combat cheating, featuring new server-side tools which monitor analytics to identify cheating, enhanced investigation processes to stamp out cheaters, updates to strengthen account security, and more.” RICOCHET Anti-Cheat will launch first with Call of Duty: Vanguard and will launch in Call of Duty: Warzone with the upcoming Pacific update.
In addition to the server enhancements coming with RICOCHET Anti-Cheat, a new PC kernel-level driver is being added. It was developed internally and will launch first for Call of Duty: Warzone with the Pacific update. The driver helps in the identification of cheaters and reinforces and strengthens the overall security. It monitors software or applications that attempt to interact with Call of Duty: Warzone. The driver will also help the Anti-Cheat team learn about suspicious behavior, using the data to strengthen the overall anti-cheating security over time. The kernel-level driver will release for Call of Duty: Vanguard at a later date.
