Boss Team Games has unveiled their newest venture, a series of retro arcade-style games based on famous horror film franchises called RetroRealms. The first two games in the series, RetroRealms: Halloween and RetroRealms: Ash vs. Evil Dead, have been announced with a new trailer, which can be watched here:
The games will pay as homages to the side-scroller era as well as the slasher genre, with players taking on the role of both heroes and villains of the franchises attached. Michael Meyers and Ash will both be playable in their repective games, and both games will feature full campaigns based on the hit films. Each game will also feature playable DLC characters, with Halloween featuring Laurie Strode and Ash vs Evil Dead featuring Kelly Maxwell.
Each game in the series will be connected via a hub system called the “Arcade” that allows for playable characters from any owned RetroRealms game to be playable in any other RetroRealms game purchased. The first two installments will be available to purchase together in physiccal and digital editions, called RetroRealms: Double Feature. This combo pack of two games will allow players to experience the new Arcade system while saving on both titles.
Boss Team Games has also announced the RetroRealms: Halloween Collector’s Edition, a physical edition of the game that comes with multiple collectibles and DLC content. The $99.99 collector’s edition includes:

RetroRealms: Halloween and RetroRealms: Ash vs Evil Dead are set to release on October 18, 2024 on PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox, with more installments in the series presumably planned for future releases.
