Report: Resident Evil 4 Remake Won’t Have Any Content Cut, Possibly More Content Added

We’re finally at the home stretch of one of the most anticipated remake titles in video game history. Capcom is getting ready to unleash Resident Evil 4 Remakewhich is slated to launch on March 24, 2023, and will include all of the bells and whistles that Capcom has been bringing to the table with its remake line. The development team that is working on the title recently spoke with Gamingbolt and revealed that, despite lingering concerns over specific content being removed, they would not be cutting any content from the remake version. In addition, Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi mentioned that we can “expect a lot more” from the game in terms of content.

The specific piece of content that keeps coming up in this discussion is the infamous island section. While the gameplay is essentially the exact same as the rest of the game, the pacing on the island is completely different from the rest of the experience. Instead of the creepy, atmospheric, and adventurous that most Resident Evil titles are known for, the island places a much heavier emphasis on shooter segments and survivability. Those who are familiar with Resident Evil’s development history know that the franchise slowly turned away from the horror aspect and more to the military shooter style with subsequent follow-ups such as Resident Evil 5 and the very infamous Resident Evil 6.

The fact that they’re keeping the island, and planning on increasing its overall content, is more than likely going to be a fairly divisive situation within the video game community. Still, at least they aren’t cutting anything out from the original, unlike Resident Evil 3 RemakeIf anything, this will only add to the overall replayability of the remake, and that makes us more and more excited to get out hands on this timeless classic.

Resident Evil 4 Remake will officially launch on March 23, 2023, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/Series S, and PC.
