When it comes to remasters in gaming, they tend to be divisive due to their nature of modernizing classic games, and they tend to be cash grabs. But not all remasters are bad, as they allow for game preservation and the ability to play older games on brand new hardware. Back in July, Stormind Games announced the remasters of both Remothered: Tormented Fathers and Remothered: Broken Porcelain, which would be available for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, and we now have the official release window for both games. Remothered: Tormented Fathers Remastered is the first chapter in the cult survival horror saga; the game has now been rebuilt in Unreal 5, whereas it was originally built in Unreal 4. This new remaster offers a new level of visual fidelity, atmosphere, and immersion, with legacy bugs resolved and everything you already loved left exactly as it was. The new remaster also comes with many quality-of-life updates, such as real-time loading, no health bars, cinematic direction, and more, making the game feel both new and familiar to returning players and newcomers.
Remothered: Broken Porcelain Remastered is the second chapter in the horror saga, and it brings overhauled visuals, lighting, and presentation. Legacy bugs have also been resolved, delivering a smoother, more stable experience. The gameplay, mechanics, and tension you remember are untouched. Overall, both games remain untouched story and experience-wise, but offer plenty of quality-of-life changes. Both games have been rebuilt using Unreal Engine 5 and will be available in Q1 2027.
