Remnant 2: Gunslinger Class Revealed

Remnant 2 developers, Gunfire Games, had announced the new Gunslinger class. This archetype is the replacement for the Ex-Cultist archetype from the first game. Originally released in 2019, Remnant is a co-op souls-like third-person game with procedurally generated levels, using different classes. IGN gives a first look at the interactions with the archetype.

The developers have described their game as “The sequel to the best-selling game Remnant: From the Ashes that pits survivors of humanity against new deadly creatures and god-like bosses across terrifying worlds. Play solo or co-op with two other friends to explore the depths of the unknown to stop an evil from destroying reality itself. To succeed, players will need to rely on their own skills and those of their team to overcome the toughest challenges and to stave off humanity’s extinction.”

Ben Cureton, the game designer for Remnant 2, goes into detail about the class “The fantasy for the gunslinger is they’re constantly switching between weapons. They’re rarely running out of ammo. It still can happen, but it’s much more rare than another class. And they shoot just much faster on average than every other class in the game. They’re just a rain of bullets everywhere.” Although the full list of the abilities isn’t listed in IGN writer, Travis Northup’s playthrough he mentions three abilities Quickdraw, Sidewinder, and Bulletstorm. So far, Quickdraw is the ability to pull out your gun and fire six shots. Quickdraw is also confirmed to have 2 versions, one where it auto targets enemies in front of you and another where you can manually aim the shots. Sidewinder decreases the time to aim down sights and also increases your movement speed while aiming. The Bulletstorm ability makes all weapons fully automatic and increases the reload speed. The prime perk for this archetype, Loaded, instantly reloads ammunition in all guns when you use an ability.

Remnant 2 will be available on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and the Epic Games Store sometime in 2023.
