Red Dead Redemption remaster has received a welcome update bringing 60 FPS. Update 1.03 doesn’t explicitly state the introduction of 60FPS, as it merely states “general bug fixes, stability fixes, and improvements,” but the new setting is apparent.
Players can go into the Red Dead Redemption settings menu to toggle 60FPS on or off. The update comes to the PlayStation 4 remaster and for PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility. The remaster also came to the Nintendo Switch but has yet to receive any update for 60FPS, it’s unclear if it will be added anytime soon.
Announced in August, Red Dead Redemption was met with wide-ranging criticism, mainly that it wasn’t a remaster at all but a port, not to mention the price of $50 for a decade-old title. The “remaster” did not have 60FPS at launch, there were no updated graphics, and the gameplay looked near identical to the original 2010 version. Fans were disappointed that the modern classic that is Red Dead Redemption didn’t receive the same graphics that Red Dead Redemption 2 has stunningly showcased.
Red Dead Redemption is available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and backward compatible on Xbox.
