Raw Data Continues to Evolve While in Early Access

Raw Data, the VR shooter from Survios, has been available to players in early access for some time now.  Nevertheless, it is on display at E3 this year alongside Survios’s other new VR title Sprint Vector, letting players shoot down some attacking robots in a 2-person co-op survival mission.

Raw Data recently updated into version 0.6, bringing all-new support for the Oculus VR machine, as well as loads of new content including new mission, new hero abilities, and more.  But it’s what’s coming up in version 0.7 that had all the developers I spoke to so excited at this year’s E3.  Raw Data version 0.7 will finally introduce a PvP mode to the game with Hostile Takeover, a 5 versus 5 team deathmatch that will let players finally test their VR shooting and slashing skills against other players.  Equally exciting is the fact that update 0.7 will be the final update before version 1.0 of the game, meaning that after this the game will be complete and enter full access status.

While Hostile Takeover was not playable in this year’s E3 demo, I still had fun as always getting into Raw Data today and shooting up some evil robots.  The demo pit myself and one other player against numerous waves of advancing robots, as we teleported around the map, ducked behind cover, and used powerups to unleash sudden barrages of rapid-fire death from our duel-wielded pistols.

You can pick up Raw Data in early access via Steam.
