Ratchet And Clank For Playstation 4 Out Now With Great Reviews

Originally made for the Playstation 2 back in 2002, the action sci and fan fan favorite Ratchet and Clank has seen what is being called a Hollywood upgrade, or a “reimagining” for the PS4 earlier today. With the approach of the upcoming major film embodying the game, this remake-not-remake attempts to tie everything neatly in a bow to make way for the silver screen version. However, this seems to be working, as reviews are good! The bump up in everything, from sounds, graphics, gameplay, cartoonish cheekiness, and the story wrap-up itself really appears to have touched a soft spot with reviewers.

Across the board, the game is receiving almost entirely straight 8 out of 10’s across the board from noticeable online gaming publications such as Destructoid, Gamespot, VideoGamer, and Polygon. Other big names in gaming media such as IGN, Playstation Universe, and Game Informer gave the game even higher reviews.

The colors pop, the worlds feel more alien, and the heart of the adventure is right where it needs to be: with explosions and rockets lighting up the screen like a Fourth of July fireworks celebration. -Game Informer

Fundamentally, the game remains the same, good old Ratchet and Clank many people fell in love with all those year ago (on a platform many people still nod to as one of the best consoles). You still bounce around from planet to planet, retain an armada of excellent and wacky weapons, and is even “complete with ’80s arcade cabinet death cries.”

Updated controls are the perfect way to experience bombastic, addictive firefights with awesome weaponry. -Playstation Universe.

A common comparison over the years for the Ratchet and Clank series was Pixar graphics, and over time the year, it has only improved. To say these latest graphics are mind blowing is not at all an overstatement. Meanwhile, some critic the cutscenes for being too formulaic and taken from the pending, animated film.

Many reviewers compliment the reinvented game for its good old fashioned platforming, hoverboard races, jetpack segments, and an overall polish and shine to a nostalgic masterpiece.

Ratchet and Clank is available for purchase right now on the PS4 for $40 USD.
