Psyonix Reveals More Info on Blueprints Coming to Rocket League Next Month

A few months ago, Pysonix announced that they would be removing Loot Crates from Rocket League at some point in the future. The next update, which came just last month, announced that Blueprints would be the successor to the Loot Crate. Blueprints would take the guesswork out of the random drops, allowing players to see exactly what they would get if they choose to spend their in-game currency to unlock the item. Earlier today, Psyonix released another update via the Rocket League website on the upcoming system, giving a few more details on what is to come once the change over happens and slightly narrowed the window as to when it would all be happening.

According to the post, once the update releases, all remaining crates in player inventories will be converted to “‘unrevealed’ Blueprints” automatically. The converted Blueprints will contain a random item from the series of crate it was converted from. The “unrevealed” Blueprint will be able to be revealed for free but will require Credits to actually purchase the item it contains.

New to the update will bring changes to how trading works as well. Items will still be tradable as normal, as will revealed blueprints and even Credits, though with some restrictions. Credits can be traded freely for items, but cannot be traded for nothing in return, and Credits cannot be present on both sides of a trade. Some additional items that will not be available for trading include items purchased from the Item Shop, items purchased in the Esports Shop, and “Bonus Gifts and Items received from Bonus Gifts.”

If you’re wondering what Bonus Gifts are, they will be the replacement for Decryptors. “Decryptors from your inventory will be converted into ‘Bonus Gifts,’ which can be opened at no cost. Bonus Gifts will contain items from the Vindicator Crate series and first Blueprint Series, the ‘Revival’ Series, that will bring back some fan-favorite items throughout Rocket League‘s history.” After the update, Decryptors will no longer be available in the game.

The post says the update will be dropping sometime next month, but right now there has been no concrete date given. There will be future updates from Psyonix where they’ll “reveal everything in the Revival Blueprint Series closer to the update.”
