As the next generation consoles from Microsoft and Sony draw ever nearer the verbal attacks are becoming more common and obvious.
The latest slight came from Sean Coleman, Sony Computer Entertainment America’s group manager of retail training and advocacy, during the company’s presentation at the GameStop Expo in Las Vegas.
When discussing the PlayStation 4, Mr. Coleman said:
If you compare PlayStation 4 visuals side by side with any other gaming console, PlayStation 4 will look better every time.
Console specs for each platform have been public for some time now. In terms of GPU capability, the PS4 is 40% more powerful than the Xbox One according to Gaijin Entertainment.
This same argument was around when the PS3 and Xbox 360 launched and the 360 dominated 3rd part development for the duration of both consoles; it wasn’t until late in the PS3’s life-cycle that it began to show its true capability.
Expect the same this generation. And expect more verbal taunting from both sides. Sigh.
