Publisher SCEA and Developer Evolution Studios has some exciting news today via Mercedes-Benz on the PlayStation Blog for their PlayStation 4 exclusive racing game that is all about you and your friends, DRIVECLUB. Volker Zaiss, a worker at Mercedes-Benz had announced that the brand new Mercedes-AMG GT sports car will be added to the DRIVECLUB roster. Pre-order your copy and get ready to get your hands on this game on October 7th. Are you ready to lead your club to the top?
Back in October 2013, the president at SCE Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida mentioned that DRIVECLUB would be delayed in order to give the team at Evolution Studios time to give the fans the game they deserve with the visuals and overall experience that would be improved within that time. Then earlier this year in April, we got to hear from Yoshida again, saying that they are finally in the position to announce that their much anticipated socially connected racing game will launch October 7th.
On the PlayStation blog, Volker Zaiss at Mercedes-Benz said the new Mercedes-AMG GT will be released on the market in 2015, but being that they have worked closely with the team at Evolution Studios, fans will be able to drive and experience the sports car before it launches into the market. It will be coming to fans as a free DLC right after the game has been released. You can just tell from both the image above and below that Evolution Studios has really captured the reality and beauty of what the Mercedes-AMG GT really is.
Volker Zaiss mentioned, “Well, despite not being as much of a gearhead as the engineers at AMG, who are responsible for the driving performance of the Mercedes-AMG GT, I also get a thrill from putting the pedal to the metal. When you hear the roaring engine sound and feel the power that thrusts you forward, it’s truly addictive. And DRIVECLUB does an excellent job of giving you that same extraordinary feeling. Experiencing the car while racing through beautifully rendered landscapes with the sunlight reflecting from the bonnet, and sharing in the excitement of racing for a club with my friends — what could be better?”
In the meantime, while the fans out there wait for DRIVECLUB to be released next month, you can prepare for the upcoming social club battles with a DRIVECLUB-themed competition that Mercedes-Benz is putting on at www.journeyofstars.com. It will get you experiencing what DRIVECLUB is, being that it is inspired by the game and follows along the same guideline, which includes creating your own club, inviting your friends or anyone from around the globe, and competing against others in various challenges in order to be the top club on the leaderboards.
For the fans that have yet to pre-order their copy of DRIVECLUB, if you pre-order on PlayStation you will be able to get the RUF RT12 R Pack, those who buy on Amazon will receive the Mercedes SLS AMG Coupe Black Series Pack, and finally for those who are interested in pre-ordering through Gamestop will get the McLaren 12C Pack.
