Professor Layton and the Lost/Unwound Future To Be Released on July 13th on iOS and Android

The newest Layton series, Professor Layton and the Lost Future (also known as Professor Layton and the Unwound Future) has finally been announced to release on July 13, 2020, for iOS and Android devices. The announcement has caught international attention due to the series’ popularity over the years, and it looks promising. Video game developer, Level-5 will be publishing the game, which is known for other game titles, such as Ni No Kuni, Yokai Watch, Dark Cloud, Snack World, and Inazuma Eleven.

For those who are unfamiliar with the series, Professor Layton is a popular puzzle adventure game originally published by Nintendo in 2008. The game delivered 17 million copies worldwide for the Nintendo DS and has been a favorite game title ever since the release. The game, thus, published more titles on mobile for iOS and Android: Professor Layton and the Curious Village and Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box (aka Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box).

The newest game will revolve around the series’ protagonists, the well-respected archeologist Professor Layton and his assistant Luke, who received a letter from Luke of the future. In the letter, both are warned about a mystery clock and time machine that can plummet London into chaos. As a result, users will solve puzzles and mysteries within the story to prevent such calamity from happening. Other than the storyline, mini-games will be available for users within the game as well.
