While the production of Nintendo Game Boys stopped back in 2003, many people still have them and new games are being released continuously. Most of those games, though, are playable through a ROM hack and are not released as a physical cartridge, making this Deadeus release extra exciting. Deadeus is available to download for free on this website, however many gamers enjoy collecting physical cartridges. Plus this 8-bit, retro game was meant to be played on the Game Boy.
Deadeus is a top-down horror game following a little boy who learns through prophetic dreams that everyone in his town will die in three days. Players can investigate within the area and hopefully save the village, however, there are a total of eleven different endings which are entirely dependant upon players’ choices. There is no obvious path to take, leaving the outcome of the game entirely up to individual players. Fans of the game can enjoy the replayability of Deadeus and attempt to play through each of the different endings.
While the Special Edition of Deadeus sold out in the first evening, the Standard Edition is still available. With the Standard Edition, buyers will receive a physical Game Boy cartridge, box, and instruction booklet. The Standard Edition is available for pre-order until February 15 with shipping expected to begin in March. Currently, it costs £42/ $57.44 plus postage and is compatible with Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance handhelds.
