The end of January marked the beginning of Praey for the Gods’ Early Access on the Steam Store. This is the first major step for the game and No Matter Studio, who is looking forward to the feedback that they will be receiving from the Early Access stage. It’s a great feat and stage of development for the team of three that has been working on this crowdfunded game for the last couple of years. With the opening of Early Access comes a new trailer:
While the official launch of Praey for the Gods, which has no set release date at this time, will arrive for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, the Early Access will only be available to Windows Steam players. No Matter is planning on keeping the game in Early Access for anywhere from six to twelve months. Their reasoning behind this is that this amount of time will allow for useful player feedback, suggestions, and the pinpointing of bugs.
Praey for the Gods is an open-world game that has a similar style to Shadow of the Colossus, with towering monsters to defeat. To end a never-ending winter, players will have to “destroy the very gods you believe in.” Some Early Access players will receive Steam keys that will unlock several items in the game that have been deemed unnecessary and simply just for fun. They can unlock the elite grappling hook, unique outfits, the game’s digital soundtrack, a wolf skin, different pet followers, and pouch. How many and what kind of keys will depend on the tier that a monetary backer to the game has at that time. Here’s a look at a few of the items:
No Matter plans on focusing on community feedback and taking it from there, saying that after they “plan to jump into some new features and content [they’ve] been looking forward to work on for some time” that will be discussed further in the next update to the game.
