Poster Reveals Destiny’s Next Expansion, Rise Of Iron

With Destiny 2 already confirmed, you might have expected the next major news from Bungie to be about sequel to the popular space RPG, but that isn’t the case. A thread popped up on Reddit last night showing a poster for what looks like a new expansion. The poster was later verified by two independent sources familiar with Bungie at Kotaku.

Pictured above, the expansion is called Rise of Iron and could have something to do with the Iron Banner event since it looks like Iron Banner rep Lord Saladin who just busted into frame Kool-Aid Man style with his flaming ax.

The size of the expansion is still up in the air since Destiny‘s previous expansions varied in size and content, but one source say that it will be bigger that the previous two expansions. What is known is that the expansion will be Fallen themed and have one new raid that was started earlier this summer and was described as “Fallen with a twist” by Kotaku’s sources.

The expansion was originally slated for April, but after the news that Destiny 2 won’t be out until 2017 Bungie had a fall release date to fill; so there is a good chance that the expansion could see release later this year. Which means that we could be officially hearing about the expansion at E3 this year.
